We offer administrative internships (30-40 hours per week) in our Foreign Language Program at our school in Washington, DC to undergraduate and graduate students from the U.S. or abroad who wish to gain work experience in our international and diverse school environment.

The ideal candidate is a native or advanced English speaker with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. They will assist the Foreign Language Coordinator with various tasks, such as preparing class rosters and materials, checking teacher reports, scheduling, updating databases, and assisting with the quality control of the program. The ideal candidate is committed to working in a professional environment, possesses good customer service and communication skills, and is reliable, honest, and trustworthy.

Our interns enjoy meeting people from all over the world while they improve their administrative and organizational skills. They also enjoy practicing and enhancing their foreign language skills. ILI is experienced with hosting foreign J-1 interns and acts as the hosting company for foreign students looking for an internship or training program in the USA. All necessary training documents can be provided but the J-1 intern is responsible for hiring a sponsoring agency for the issue of the DS-2019.

The internships are for a minimum of three months and are unpaid. Housing assistance and transit benefits can be provided if needed.
Next opening: November 2024. Please email your availability and resume to Martina Skoglund. No phone calls, please.

We do not offer teaching internships/volunteering.
