Support Assistant

The Language School Support Assistant provides robust administrative and operational support to the school. They assist with a wide range of activities, supporting primarily the Foreign Language Program but also providing backup support to the Admissions Office and front desk. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide classroom support and technical assistance as needed; including classroom setup and classroom scheduling
  • Manage the school’s Zoom accounts & meetings, proper use, and troubleshoot issues
  • Keep student records up-to-date and accurate (attendance & pedagogical reports, pass/fail)
  • Conduct course evaluations, analyze data, and provide teacher feedback
  • Accurately record timesheet hours in the database & student records
  • Plan and organize the start of a new term of classes
  • Update the school’s website & online registration form as needed
  • Increase ILI’s presence on social media platforms
  • Assist with intern recruitment and supervision
  • Assist the program coordinator with any administrative tasks, e.g. responding to inquiries, staffing classes, student communication
  • Serve as liaison between the program coordinator, upper management, and instructors.
  • Provide backup for the front office/Admissions Office

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, accurate
  • Solid experience with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
  • Some accounting background and experience with Intuit QuickBooks preferred
  • Full-time (40 hours per week) in-person; flexibility with work schedule needed

Intern

We are looking for new interns on a regular basis. Our interns work as assistants to the Foreign Language Coordinator and help with administrative tasks. Instructors

The International Language Institute is looking for experienced teaching professionals on a regular basis:

  • ESL instructors who can work mornings, evenings, or Saturdays (Washington, DC & Gaithersburg, MD location)
  • Foreign Language instructors who can teach group classes in the evenings and/or Saturdays, as well as private students on a flexible basis (only Washington, DC location)
